What is a silent disco?

Instead of music playing through speakers, everyone receives a pair of wireless headphones. You can switch between three different music channels and control your own volume.

Do my friends and I have to listen to the same channel?

No. Everyone chooses their own soundtrack and can change channel at any time. The colour of each person’s headphones shows which channel they are listening to.

When should I arrive?

For the Early Lock-In, gates open at 4.40pm and we recommend arriving between 4.45pm and 5.15pm.

For the Night Shift, gates open at 8.15pm and we recommend arriving between 8.15pm and 8.45pm.

This gives you time to check in, collect your headphones, visit the bar and be ready for the Governor’s welcome.

Last entry is at 6.30pm for the Early Lock-In and 9.30pm for the Night Shift.

Can I book the Governor’s VIP Package for fewer than four people?

No. Private cells are available for groups of four to six people. All members of the group must hold a Governor’s VIP Package ticket. VIP capacity is limited, so advance booking is strongly recommended.

Will food and drink be available?

A bar will be open during both sessions, with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available. Crisps and other bagged snacks will also be available. Shepton Mallet Prison is a cashless venue, so please bring a card or contactless payment method.
