Night Supervisor – 12 hours per week
£6,552.00 PER ANNUM (£10.50 PH)

Are you a confident and hardworking individual seeking an exciting opportunity to be part of an unconventional and thrilling experience? Shepton Mallet Prison is currently looking for a Night Supervisor to join our team.
This part-time role entails 12 hours per week, including Thursday nights, Friday and/or Saturday nights, and occasional Sunday nights.
As a Night Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in leading our guests on ghost tours, looking after overnight guests during our Night Behind Bars events, and ensuring a smooth and safe experience for external paranormal groups.
The salary for this position is £6,552.00.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensure strict adherence to health and safety guidelines throughout the evening.
- Act promptly and effectively in case of emergencies, maintaining calm and providing necessary assistance.
- Take responsibility for the security of the site during paranormal shifts and Night Behind Bars events.
- Perform unlocking and locking procedures as required, conducting regular checks of the premises during the event.
- Collaborate with event organisers and hosts, ensuring their familiarity with the site and awareness of relevant health and safety protocols.
- Provide excellent customer service, serving in the café/gift shop during the event.
- Complete various tasks assigned by the line manager throughout the night to ensure the smooth operation of the event.

- Be reliable, punctual, and committed to fulfilling the assigned duties.
Desired Experience:
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- Some experience working in event management or related fields would be advantageous.

If you have a passion for creating unforgettable experiences and enjoy working in a fast-paced, engaging setting, this is the perfect role for you.
The salary for this position is £11,466.00
Key responsibilities include:
- Acquire extensive knowledge of all products, tours, and activities offered at Shepton Mallet Prison, ensuring you can provide detailed information and guidance to visitors.
- Provide support during large-scale events, such as the popular Night Behind Bars, by coordinating activities, assisting with logistics, and ensuring the smooth running of the event.
- Contribute to the behind-the-scenes preparation and organisation of seasonal activities and events, creating an exciting and immersive experience for our visitors.
- Ensure that all activities are conducted in a safe and secure manner, following established protocols and guidelines to guarantee the well-being of participants.
- Maintain a high standard of service delivery in all activities, ensuring visitors have an enjoyable and memorable experience.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow colleagues, working as part of a dedicated team to execute activities and maintain open communication throughout events.
Personal requirements:
- A genuine interest in creating unique and engaging experiences for visitors.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with both visitors and colleagues effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills to handle multiple activities simultaneously.
- Adherence to safety protocols and the ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
